Today, Valencia is the third city of Spain and a major Center for wine exports.The grapes have been cultivated in Valencia since Neolithic times. The ancient writers mention the area's wine industry in his writings. While wine has played a role in the economy of Valencia for many years, it is only in the last few centuries that the export of wine business has grown in size and importance. Today, many wineries in Valencia still produce mainly for the export market, although its products are also popular among the locals.
About the Wine Maker
Bodegas Vincente Gandia was founded in 1885 by Vincente Gandia, and is now regarded as one of the top 15 wineries in Spain.Its home is in the region Utiel-Requena, where the winery and the Hoya De Cadenas estate are situated. Whilst the winery is now quite modern and one of largest there is still a focus traditional techiniques with modern technology. The estate uses sustainable and environmental practices and encourages the use of indigenous grape varieties such as ‘Bobal’ grape.
About the Wine
This wine is 80% Bobal and 20% Syrah with 12.5% alcohol content. It is of an intense, well robed cherry colour. It has an expressive bouquet where the aromas of red fruits such as blackberries and raspberries stand out. It has been carefully fermented to obtain a wine that is extremely pleasant on the palate and with a good balance between acidity and tannins. Serve between 16 and 18 ºC.
